  • Will the bath bombs stain my bath or skin?
The mica in the bath bombs will not stain your bath, as long as the bath tub surface is clean and not cracked. If you have limescale or soap grime in your tub or around the plug hole, it will stick to that, but can be cleaned using the appropriate methods, standard Jif (or jif substitute) does the trick. The mica's used for the bath bombs will not stain your skin, so not to worry, if you try a blue bath bomb you wont come out looking like a smurf!
  • Preservatives in Natural Products?
For some of our products this is unavoidable, we get asked quite a bit about the preservative we use in our natural products, here is a bit about what it is and why it is in there. Cosmetic products need preservation to prevent microbial growth spoiling the product which can lead to potential skin infections. Preservatives play a very important function in products containing water; they kill micro-organisms and water borne bacteria and prevent the growth of bacteria, mould and yeast. If a product contains water (including hydrosols, floral water and aloe vera, which all contain water) or will come into contact with water (e.g. a scrub used with wet fingers) a preservative is essential to help prevent microbes growing. d-lyte prefers to use a broad spectrum preservative called Geogard 221â„¢ made by Lonza. We like this preservative because although it is synthetically made, it is Ecocert approved for use in Ecological and Organic Certified Cosmetics. Geogard 221 is also COSMOS compliant, Na True certified, Soil association approved and Lonza does not test their products on animals. Geogard 221 consists of Benzyl Alcohol and Dehydroacetic Acid and Water.
  • Are your products allergy free?
Please note we use nut oils in our products, if you have an allergy to nuts we recommend you stick with the bath bombs which don't contain any oils. Nut Oils include - Sweet Almond Oil, Macadamia Oil and Cocoa Butter (may be classed as a nut!) Coconut Oil (not technically a nut even with nut in the name, it is botanically a drupe!) Gluten Free - Our products don't contain any gluten, even the oats for Oatmeal and Honey are gluten free. If you have an allergy and are unsure about the ingredients of our products, please refer to the ingredients question above or make contact with us, we are more than happy to have a chat about it to ease your mind.
  • Are bath bombs safe for kids?
They sure are! We do recommend that the use of bath bombs is for children aged 2 and over though.
  • Do your bath bombs or soap change the colour of the water?
Yes they do, our bath bombs are coloured with mica powders to add vibrant colour and fun to your bath, great for getting round childrens bath time blues. Some of our soaps will change the colour of the water or the colour may leach out when washing with it, being soap though it just washes away, including from the soap dish. We recommend not leaving your coloured soap on your white towels though.
